Just as there is a difference between thinking and doing, there is a
difference between creativity and creation. To traverse the chasm
that lies between creativity and the act of creating is difficult.
The journey is slow and unsure. Creativity is a dichotomy in and of
itself. It is grounded to a specific time yet timeless. It is
everywhere, yet tied to specific moments. It is so real, yet has no
material weight or form. Creativity surrounds us like oxygen
surrounds the trees but is also deeply imbedded within us like roots
entrenched in the soil. It is quite difficult to pinpoint. It has a
million definitions and none at all. It is a transient thought
flitting through our mind; it is a concept that has existed for time
immemorial.
The
act of creation is our meager, mortal attempts to humanize the
divine. For my particular situation, I have found that creativity is
easy, while creation is hard. But again, this may be my own unique
perspective. Just as the process of turning our desires into deeds
within our lives is not easy or clear-cut neither is the act of
turning a creative thought into a creative work. Although we take
different roads, we are all on the same journey. We find the
commonalities that help us; the similarities that encourage us. The
different facets of humanity that make us think. This blog is an
offering of a unique journey in hopes that something will help or
affect another.
